- Think it through “Help me plan a calm week. I’ve got three deadlines and a birthday.” She reasons, drafts and plans it out with you, by voice or text.
- Check a message “I got a text saying my package is held for a $1.99 fee. Is that real?” Paste it in, or let her glance at your screen. She names the warning signs and tells you what to do next.
- Play a story “Run me a mystery on a night train.” Adventure mode: she narrates in her own voice, and you decide what happens.
Mom sounded bright this week. Three calls with her, mostly about the garden. One call blocked: it claimed to be Social Security and asked for gift cards.

We’re building VERA into an ordinary phone number. Mom won’t install anything. The number is the whole setup.
Family calls will ring straight through. Strangers will meet VERA first. If a caller pushes gift cards, secrecy or urgency, she’ll say so out loud and text you. And on a quiet afternoon, Mom will be able to call her just to chat.

Is VERA a real person?
No. VERA is an AI. The “real” in our name means she’s working software you can talk to today, not a concept video.
What can the free demo do?
Talk things through by voice or text, check a suspicious message for scam warning signs, and run a short adventure story. It can’t open your files or your accounts.
What does she run on?
In the demo, Anthropic’s Claude writes her words, and Microsoft and Cloudflare speech services give them a voice. Her personality is VERA’s own. What she remembers about you is yours, and the privacy page shows where it goes.
Where does my conversation go?
To reply, the demo sends your messages through our Cloudflare service to Anthropic. Anything the demo saves about you stays in your browser. The privacy page has every detail, in plain words.
Does she work on a Mac or an iPhone?
The demo runs in any modern browser, including Safari. On iPhone, tap the mic to talk, because iPhone browsers don’t allow a spoken wake word. The full VERA is Windows-only for now.
What will it cost?
The demo is free. Pricing for the full version hasn’t been set yet, and people on the founders list will hear first. The Windows build will also need an account with an AI provider; your invite will explain any costs.
Is the Guardian Line an emergency service?
No. It’s being built to help spot scams and keep family in the loop. It won’t replace 911, a doctor or professional care.
